Leftover from an age before motor vehicles. A time when streets didn't need to be of any specific width. Peculiar alleyways. I think i have sen this particular alleayway in a painting named Tinker's Alley, although the street sign describes it as Lindsey Court. The cobbled area now adjacent to the town library is where the locally famous executuioner William Marwood once practiced his gruesome trade. It was perhaps more of a morbid hobby however, as he had a day job as a shoemaker. There is an old house on church lane which bears a plaque claiming itself to be his...
