The northern approach to Beirut from the air offers a wonderful vista on the Lebanese capital from above the city's western beaches. After a few minutes spent just off the coast of the north-south mountain range that forms Lebanon's backbone, the first view of the capital is of the Ras Beirut district, literally "Head of Beirut." Sky Is Falling

A large section of the art deco facade of this building in Center City fell to the sidewalk below. Luckily it happened at 5am when nobody was walking by. Formerly a fancy restaurant called Brassier Perrier, this building was supposed to be shown to a potential tenant later in the day. That potential tenant is said to now be looking elsewhere.
