Peter: the overhead wires that power the busses are called [[wiki:catenary wire]]. the part of the {bus}/{trolley} that makes contact with those wires is called a [[wiki:pantograph (rail)]]. i dont know why i know this, but......

Peter: one thing i love about this site is that someone can post photos of a catenary wire in london, and someone can answer back with a similar photo of the same obscure thing in japan.......
