Comments about catenaryThere are 8 comments about "catenary"
Peter: i gotta second it as {rems}... the new stuff on that wall is much more intricate and better; its generally ok to go over a simple piece with something of higher quality, which definitely seems...... Peter: yeah, definitely nice. i particularly like the {catenary} wires and the {trabant}...... Peter: whats that silver sphere? i love all the overhead catenary wires, too... are those for electric busses or trolleys (im guessing {trolley}s)?... Peter: the overhead wires that power the busses are called [[wiki:catenary wire]]. the part of the {bus}/{trolley} that makes contact with those wires is called a [[wiki:pantograph (rail)]]. i dont know why i know this, but...... oldcrab: surprising septa never scrapped that copper catenary wire. still quite a few bucks hanging up there.... Peter: one thing i love about this site is that someone can post photos of a catenary wire in london, and someone can answer back with a similar photo of the same obscure thing in japan....... Peter: a kitty face? maybe ##thats## why they call em CATenary wires ;)... Peter: mmmm, i am a lover of catenary wires and the pantographs that run along them! the catenary face has such pursed lips... maybe its scared of the oncoming trains?...
