"The former Abbott Hospital buildings housed a long-term and transitional care facility called the Ebenezer Caroline Center from 1980 to 1992, which in the 1990s became the City of Lakes Transitional Care Center, closing in 2004. Since the departure of City of Lakes, the hospital buildings have been vacant." excerpt taken from http://www.placeography.org/index.php/Abbott_Hospital,_1717_1st_Avenue_South Photographs by: Bruce Drinnon Full book available at: http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/1584335 for more information and other photos my website is www.brucedrinnon.com

Snowpocalypse 2010!

author: Peter : Brooklyn, NY

On December 26 2010, the snow began After the usual delays, plows finally began to hit the streets Under A snowman waiting for the bus Not much can get in the way of a plow... ...except for the countless cars that were abandoned in the middle of intersections mid-storm This plowing garbage truck was blocked in by an abandoned car, too And this large plow was boxed in by an abandoned taxi cab that blocking the intersection After a few hours of exploring snow-glazed Brooklyn, we finally noticed that more and more roads were slowly clearing An icy Abandoned Door

author: Simon : Munich, Germany

The abandoned S-Bahn stop in Oberwiesenfeld was opened in 1972 to provide additional means of transportation for the 1972 Summer Olympics. The station in Oberwiesenfeld is one of the few lost places in the Munich downtown area. Today, it has fallen into disuse and the tracks leading to the station have been removed.www.munichphotoblog.com/oberwies . . . n-station-oberwiesenfeld/

Abandoned House on the Block

author: Franny Wentzel : Monroeville, USA

Couldn't say exactly when the house was abandoned but I remember the new family moving in... The shrubbery has since grown out... The one by the porch... ...has a leafy buddy coming up from under the floorboards The front steps look like a Bjork video... The one where the plants take over... Looks just as eerie from the porch... Severed Barbie head... that can't be a welcoming sign... Here let me get that for you... Left behind... Was this note from the Census taker...
