This is the Toronto Brickworks located in the Don Valley. It started operating back in 1889 and closed only in 1984.
Currently a group called Evergreen is redeveloping the site so that it offers lots of eco-friendly things: a native plant nursery, a children’s discovery centre, walking trails, skating rinks, and a farmer's market.

 Sometimes when you take pictures of fireworks without a tripod, weird things happen. Such was the case this past June 24th when I was riding my bike along the Lachine bike trail at night and saw the Dorval display of St Jean Baptiste fireworks.
Lucky for me, I was a few miles away when the giant radioactive space sperm invaded the festivities and impregnated all the partygoers with überhuman DNA designed to make the human race eventually evolve into a superior race - skunk cabbage. On July 14, 2007, all those who were at the fireworks will turn into supergenius skunk...
