You know that spring is here (and summer isn't too far behind) when you start seeing the fleets of ice cream trucks take to the streets, circling the block like so many sharks, all playing different melodies out of sync, ringing bells, diesel sounds... the sounds of summer!

 Most of the melting snow has only so far revealed soggy cigarette butts, dog poop, and other assorted detritus. It was with great delight that I saw these today.

 While wandering around downtown this past Monday, I spotted this first flower of the season poking out of the ground next to the Christ Church Cathedral on University Avenue.
What a relief it was, after such a snowy winter.

 Spring flowers such as Tulips, Irises, Daffodils, Crocuses, Hydrangeas and Hyacynths are now on sale at the corner store, so Spring must really be here. Although the temperature was at a high 2C today, these plants were outside as it was a beautiful sunny day.
