Vintage Views of Oklahoma City

author: Franny Wentzel : Oklahoma City, OK

image 30648
Most of these views were taken from old encyclopedias from the 1930s to the 1960s Sharp-eyed viewers will note a missing building in the foreground... This one is from the mid-30s. The three buildings still stand but the one with the oil derrick on top was expanded and remodeled in the 1960s Three from the 1980s picture book of the United States The buildings are taller and there's a few more skyscrapers but it seems like a smaller city somehow...

The highwaqy runs straight through "downtown" Pauls Valley, Pauls Valley, despite its small population seems abundant in both dried patches of grass and huge, blue skies
