Illuminite

The lights go on at Yonge-Dundas Square for Christmas -- Illuminite 2009. The performers shown here did a fire act that involved dancing on the stage, weaving through the crowd holding flaming mitts, and a trampoline act that was just a bit too difficult to capture in the low light. Which is a shame because the trampoline involved a flamethrower. :( More at

Today, amidst the haze of the waning dust storm that has enveloped most of the east coast of Australia for the last few days, the big birds in the sky put on a show for us to mark the 10th anniversary of the Strand rebuild, after it was wiped out by tropical cyclone Tessi.
