Overflowing Manhole

- EvilGentleman - Monday, April 3rd, 2006 : goo

Saw this up on the mountain in front of the Montreal Neurological Institute, at the corner of Pine Street and University Avenue today. Wonder where the water is originally coming from?

GGP: agreed; thought waves.

...from an underwater drainage infrastructure that is currently operating above capacity thanks to all the melting snow-piles?

though the water does look pretty clean...

elaine: oh, peter, you are so literal sometimes

jeeff: 3rd Apr 2006 - 15:25 GMT

whatever the source, i'm more concerned about this article's title.

GGP: jeeff, LOL!

Peter: ...it sure beats being a pedant ;)

EvilGentleman: 3rd Apr 2006 - 16:29 GMT

jeeff, your mind works in scary directions

Peter, a few blocks west of here is a 6-foot diameter water main that has broken repatedly over the last 20 years, causing periodic rapids down Peel Street that usually end up shorting out the Metro station at the bottom, causing commuter chaos. However, having noticed about 20 trucks around different parts of the region pumping out manholes this morning (jeeff - quiet!), I would imagine you are right vis-a-vis the meltwater.

These discussions provide a welcome respite to the tedium of work! ;)

elaine: 3rd Apr 2006 - 16:53 GMT

well, i am glad you are happy to have swerved the pedant tag for the moment, peter
jeeff - hm. the earth god's enema?

EvilGentleman: 3rd Apr 2006 - 19:06 GMT

Just imagine if I had titled this "Manhole Needs Pumping"

Biff: 3rd Apr 2006 - 19:11 GMT

Isn't this just before the cover blows off, injuring visiting Librarians...
