Shimokitazawa

- serlingrod - Friday, April 27th, 2007 : goo

Shimokitazawa is a neighborhood in Tokyo's Setagaya Ward famous for its nightlife. Shimokitazawa (also known as "Shimokita") is a very well-known place for young people to hang out. There are hundreds of small shops that cater to young adults such as clothing, household items, restaurants, clubs, and bars. A friend whom I met while studying abroad and I used to frequent a few bars in the neighborhood, which all had the name "Mother" in them. There was "Blood Mother", "Mother's Bar", and "Mother's Ruin." I regret not taking any shots of them.

is that mc donalds. the golden arches. a language all of humanity can read

jack: 27th Apr 2007 - 12:55 GMT

it probably is, unless it's mcdowels from coming to america, but i marvel at how society has changed there in japan, as a child i remember when they were bombing tokyo, i sometimes wonder if japan would ever go to war with the US again, i think not, i think elvis had a great influence over the kids there, i remember as a teen reading about the teen's in japan and how they worshipped elvis, this country owes elvis a thank you for changing japan into a modern country, having their kids dance and dress like elvis, having their kids realize that america is a wonderful country.

they still love michael jackson as well. he's HUGE! him and mickey mouse. basically anything that embodies the spirit of U.S. pop culture.

One man I met there said to me....."USA.....NUMBER ONE!.....JAPAN.....NUMBER TWO!!!"

Another said....."Best state....HAWAII!"
