Art Car Parade 2006
[previous] :: [next]
The annual Art Car Parade took place yesterday, Saturday the 13th in Houston Texas, Art Car Capital of the World!! There were over 200 entries in the parade with over 150,000 people attending! Houston's Art Car Parade is the oldest and longest running parade in the world! We attract cars from all over the U.S. and it gets bigger and better every year! This year I had the honor, once again, of driving the Jesus Monkey Car. The car is owned by my office-mate and I drive during the parade while he scoots around on his foot scooter in costume! It's a sight to see! We have a great time every year and this year was no different. This is truly an amazing event and if you want to see a spectacle, come to Houston to see this event! Other cities that hold Art Car Parades that I am aware of are Berkeley, Minneapolis, Tulsa, Austin and I'm sure there are more that I am not aware of. Please enjoy the attached photos and click the links below for more info!!
