Can't Miss Roadside Stop
[previous] :: [next]From out trip to Banff and Jasper in June 2004. The day we drove the Icefields Parkway from Banff to Jasper it was rainy and the clouds were very low so there wasn't much to see. We pretty much drove straight through to Jasper. Oh man was the weather a lot nicer on the way back. We'd already stopped at quite a few spots and this one, Lake Peyto, didn't sound like much. We were not too far out of Banff and we just wanted to get back so we hesitated to stop but thought "why not, where do we have to be?" It's a bit of a hike up to the overlook but on a nice day you can not take a bad picture unless you get your finger in the shot.

You'd have to do something pretty extrordinary not to take a fabulous shot of them, though, they're so incredible. Despite that, this is a beautiful photo- thanks for sharing it with us. :) Catherine Penfold-Waxman: 22nd Mar 2006 - 23:23 GMTLooks like a river of blue paint. Crazy man, crazy.
