you are mad for the cataloguing! have you thought of a career in information management? i like this version - peter's projection is too fair and not ukcentric enough for my taste - i like to see the uk slightly too big and right in the middle like this, it makes me feel cozy

elaine - i've never thought of such a career. i think i'm only interested in managing my own info.

speaking of maps, it was funny while living in japan to find out that they organize the continents opposite to the map above, so the pacific is the central ocean. this conveniently places japan right in the middle. it only struck me then that everyone really perceives themselves as being in the middle of it all. it was maybe my most valuable and all-pervasive lesson learned from living abroad.

hehe my house/address wont show up in mapquest or google maps

the problem is delivery guys never find us

guess there are advantages to living in the mass of surburbia tho since its such a mess i could hide out for a looong time

quite right jeeff, they say you should never professionalise something you love, and while we all have to make a living, every time anyone ever suggests a way of me making something commercially successful out of my work i tend to resist it, but it is usually based on my perception of their understanding of what makes me tick, and what makes the work tick. i am still trying to refine a colouring books and crayons lifestyle which would also pay..
but i know someone who did an information management postgrad. it made her allergic for a little while and she had to stay with her old job til she overcame her natural revulsion, but i guess she did the MA for a reason, and she will find her niche eventually. sadly for her, east germany fell so he r job at the stasi will never be realised
