South Street Bridge

- serlingrod - Sunday, November 18th, 2007 : goo

Originally opened in 1923, the South Street Bridge is one of several bridges that connects Center City with West Philly. Known for its spectacular view of the city and its pedestrian-friendly character, the South Street Bridge is a favorite among locals. In the past decade however the bridge has begun showing its age...large chunks of concrete have fallen off over the years, several of which have landed on the I-76 highway located underneath on the far west end (a safety hazard although thankfully no one has been injured). An untold number of pieces have also crumbled into the Schuylkill River below. At the same time many artists have turned the bridge into a canvas for some awesome unique paste-ups. Since 2000 the city has been at odds with whether it should renovate the bridge according to historical guidelines, or replace it entirely.

quite a few things to read there, its sad when a child hates his father, when there is racism and hatred and yet God loves every one of us, even those who plot to destroy us, its the human being thats the problem for this world. animals kill to survive, we kill because we think too little.
