Ice Cream Toilet

This is a shot taken on New Years day in Cabot Square in Montreal, across the street from the old Forum. The Childrens Hospital is in the background. The building was the entrance to the old underground toilets that used to be in major Montreal parks for many years until the 1970s or early 1980s, when they were finally closed for good due to criminal activity in the washrooms.

It is now an ice cream stand during the warmer months, and an oasis of cool to escape the oppressive heat and humidity of summer.

I have always found the architecture of these toilets to be charming, despite their original purpose.
