On the morning in question, I was awoken by a neighbour in Lytherton Avenue Cadishead, saying that she thought there was a gas leak...... Bobs Ferry Accident:
We had walked on Cadishead Moss in the morning on Jean Dodd’s health walk with possibly 60 inspired walkers. When the walk had ended I had a chat with Mrs Heap the ‘Irlam Historians’...... Sadly Bobs Lane Ferry is no more :-(, no sure when it went you can still see a few semi destroyed bits of the landing stage from the Partington side....
