Not a big fan of this veggie, but it makes for a great photo! Asparagus in all its glory.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asparagus

FYI - the plural of asparagus is asparagus (not asparagi)

mmmm, i love asparagus. i find that boiling/steaming them makes them bland and boring, so my favorite way to eat em is grilled. i break off the rough bottom ends and sear them in a pan or on a griddle, or of course, on a grill (though i dont have a grill at the moment).

i used to have a roommate that had one of those "foreman grills", which i found to be perfect for grilling asparagus. you didnt even need oil or butter... talk about healthy! ...and tasty. yum.

yes, i am an unabashed ;)

GGP: 21st Mar 2006 - 19:03 GMT

i like them tossed in a nice vinegrette following grilling or par-boiling.

jeeff: 21st Mar 2006 - 19:23 GMT

peter - i don't think i've ever met an abashed vegetarian.

Peter: 21st Mar 2006 - 19:26 GMT

jeeff: ill try to be more abashed in the future if you like, heh.

Elicar: 21st Mar 2006 - 22:19 GMT

Yummy! I have two bundles on water on my kitchen counter waiting for me to go home. I'll try the grilled one. Haven't grilled them before~

elaine: 21st Mar 2006 - 23:10 GMT

makes your pee smell, but i like them very much. i fry em in butter then serve with parmesan. mmmmmm

jeeff: 22nd Mar 2006 - 17:33 GMT

if i, as a carnivore, don't have to be abashed, neither do you.

Covent Garden, WC1 The only reason I know what car this is, is because I bought one of these to learn to drive in once for £300, when I'd really wanted a two-tone Zephyr Zodiac. Mine was blue-grey, and it had...
