The Bajaj of Brooklyn?
[previous] :: [next]
As you probably know, I'm a bit of a scooter nut, so while out for a walk in Prospect Heights, I was surprised to find something a tad different from the usual Vespas and Lambrettas. This one is a Bajaj, and their website explains that they are an "India-based manufacturer of motorcycles and Vespa-style scooters". So, I took a look, and of course, snapped some cameraphone pics, as I had never seen one of these sorts of Scooters before:
It seems to be a rather powerful two-stroke engine on a apparently low-quality plastic/metal hybrid body. Check out that silver plastic hub-cap on the rear spare! The lack of license plate is a typical method of avoiding a ticket for parking (illegally) on the sidewalk. They can't ticket you without your tag number, and they can't tow you if youre chained to something big and heavy, heh. Oh, and double-points if you noticed the Drinking Water Sampling Station to which the scoot is chained, or the newer white Volvo station-wagon from this entry. Small world, eh? I guess you can only take so many photos of your neighborhood before there starts to be some sort of confluence... www.bajajauto.com/1024/vehicle/scooterindex.asp This article has been viewed 3240 times in the last 2 years Jamie: 12th Jun 2006 - 19:19 GMTwhat you need is some kind of super photoshop filter that three dinemsionally stitces them all together chiamattt: 12th Jun 2006 - 23:07 GMTpeter, you would go apeshit in Seoul.
