it is my smalltime and modest belief i am very clever. i was walking home from drinking in a pub and saw these teddy crisps in the street and i said to my friend david "quickly! give me your camera, i need these teddies for citynoise" and lo, he gave me his camera, i took the photos, i downloaded them from his 'new device' onto my evidently klunky pc which took four hours to digest his camera (that is exaggeration btw) and now he has gone home and here, i have uploaded them as well.
i should get a gold star.

I used to be a trainspotter, hanging out on the platforms of Peterborough station, looking at the Inter City 125s, DMUs and the Fletton fly ash freight trains go by, then whipping off down to March Motive Power depot to have a look at the Class 20s and 30s taking shortcuts across the track to get there, then off down to Cambridge to have a look at the DMU sheds, etc.
I remember one thing about it though that sticks in my memory: the smells. You either loved them... author: elaine : London, UK
in previous articles i have shown the gasworks empty or thereabouts, their crowns standing proud with only sky behind and air inside (or water), but currently they are fat and full, for our heating and ovens to keep us toasty. small ones like the one at kings x pump like hearts, but these are relatively big.

and here are the rest, down by watching queen, all badly photomerged together.
i didn't get a canalside snap that day, as...

corruption, my dears, is everywhere.
broadway market is just over the canal from me, and just before london fields. i usually meet ian and charlie there for our walks to viccy park. our traditional meeting place had been the little georgia, which was a mad russian outfit with a proprietress who swanned around in wild get-ups which made her look like an aristocrat who had fled the revolution, and which was the workplace of several women. what was great, for us, was it was a nice place that did decent coffee, and which had an astoundingly liberal take on large...

I took photos out my window after the first snowfall of winter 2005/2006, but in the days following christmas it snowed properly. There's nothing nicer than nice thick cotton wool snow, and however old you get. However grown-up you unwittingly become. However much responsibility might weigh you down and make snow somewhat of an inconvenience, there's always that residual child inside that whispers - however softly - "yay! snow!"
