More from Orton Mere, here and here

More photos from my walk around Orton Mere today
I quite consciously distanced myself from the other photographers here; and there were a fair few. Trainspotters. Taking photos of trains. Not that there's anything inherently wrong with that. I took some photos of some trains yesterday. But i think you see what i'm getting at. My vinatge Jersey with suitably matched antiqued denims plus biker jacket allowed some such distance to be achieved. I hope.
And just to bring the point home; I took no photos of any trains. But hang on. Surely they mean Baby You're Bionic. or am i...

It's a popular place for a cheap family day out; and also quite popular with trainspotters. The Nene Valley Railway stops here. It's a sort of railway heritage touristy private railway sort of thing. The end of the line is Railworld which i posted some photos of yesterday. In the other direction I think it goes as far as a small village called Alwalton. It's the kind of place where the people claim to be from Peterborough when actually they aren't. Much like the town i grew up in.
So Orton Mere is part of a Network of citywide nature...

Following my failed expedition to Railworld I took a walk down London Road, skipped across the junction of Fletton Avenue and cut down a little footpath that runs alongside the Fletton Parkway. It's the sort of place you go to get raped and/or murdered. The reason i decided to go though, was to try and find the location of this article someone posted way back in February 2003.
I caught some kids doing this...
They ran off as soon as they saw me coming which I thought was pretty funny. Some chav type dude almost ran me down on one...

No expense has been spared in creating this unique visitor attraction. Fun and education all rolled into one package. Contrary to appearance, this place is actually open for business. You actually have to pay to go and have a look round the old railway tat. Now, i know what you're thinking, but I didn't pay to go in. It didn't appear to be open today in any case. Funny thing is i've always seen signs for this place but just assumed that it was a defunct and closed down ancient visitor attraction. It may well be defunct and shite but...

A few photos from the Isle of Dogs, to the south of canary wharf. Taken by Adrian Nettleship on a little cycle about.

London's a big place, you know. I just moved, and had a sift through a vast archive of phone photos, I'll let the images speak. I'd upload more, but I'm tired. Citynoise for you:
Sloane Sq War Memorial, the plaque below says "Their lives to their country, their souls to their god"
Selling jesus one more time
The law being enforced in Southwark.
This one is a very dark shot of the rotting insides of an old sweatshop
A bridge near my old home, it's equalized because the original image simply came out black. The colours bring out its nature a little.
Hackney Wick, which I...
