The surviving entrance to the private station at 121 Westminster Bridge Road
During the first half of the 19th century, London's population more than doubled and the number of London corpses requiring disposal was growing almost as fast.
Cemetery space in the city had failed to keep pace with this growth, and so the vast new Brookwood Cemetery - the London Necropolis - was built in Surrey. Brookwood was the largest burial ground in the world when it was opened in 1854 by the London Necropolis & National Mausoleum Company.
To get there, the deceased and their mourners - segregated by... author: Nic : London, UK
Last thing at night. He'll be sleeping and I'm ready too, but if I say
"Want a wee?"
He's up and ready, night-time alert, waiting to go...
I open the door and he's off rustling in the bushes for unsuspecting cats, unused to terrier determination! If he is succuesful a flash of green yellow eyes and a sound not unlike an unoiled hinge on high volume with a blur of black and white fur races off into the shadows - too quick for ted - he looks at me and we head down the steps!
He's always ahead, as I go the proper route... author: elaine : London, UK
spotted on prichards road, as a postscript to this discussion about the disgorged state of local junction boxes, what caught my eye was the form rather than the content, that it was a stencil, quite good, like the stary eyes (and, as well, as a bonus, the reverse stencil thing on the side)
on closer inspection, what was this, a lobster/crab type boy? no, it's very clearly some kind of stripping tool, so, yes, the physical hacking in to these boxes is evidently about more than finding a convenient street cupboard to put your empty special brew cans...

i am going mental with the rain and the migraine. must remember to move to a desert. see the little crack in my bathroom window? it's a bullet wound, yes. from an air rifle, mind, but they can still put your eye out. this, here, is einstien's brain. it is an illegally precured photo from a picture library. i treasure it. i am going completely berzerk here, too manky to go out, to ill to be creative. feel sorry for me and send me healing vibes if you have a heart

highly doctored, but essentially the sunset out of my window coupla weeks ago. i have a huge recalcitrant smudge on my lens which needed doctoring out, and i did montage this out of 2 photos and caused that crease to appear. since i had already 'healed' out the dirty smudge, the crease was no trouble. not quite fresh off the press, but worth it i think. the sunset dignifies the crown of telecom stuff on the top of an otherwise unremarkable building
