Screwing around with nighttime light photography in Griffentown near the corner of William and Murray. Appearntly I suck as a photographer since the background is somewhat blurred and I was using a tripod. The purchase of a remote control should eliminate this problem. (the blurring problem, not the crappy photographer part)

I was walking with some friends on Tupper Street in the Shaugnessy Village district of Montreal's West End, when I spotted an alleyway running south from Tupper, between Seymour and Fort streets.

There were some friendly people on the balconies along there, who have a sense of humour about the crack dealers who take the area over at night. They painted the above messages, and had just been given tickets by the cops for defacing an abandoned building. They were more than proud to...

I was walking around in St-Henri (St-Jacques St.) and saw this man in a window. He seemed so sad. So the logical thing to do was capture this sadness in a picture. However I didnt have my tripod and of course the picture is blurred. The blurred effect is nice but i wish I could have captured the saddness. Next time...

Here is a shot of the old RCA building in St-Henri. The one with the Toshiba sign on top of it. I find it looks like something out of a videogame.

The building in which I live, being a former factory or warehouse or something, often feels more like a fallout shelter than an apartment with its lack of balconies and less than adequate number of windows or other means of connecting with the outside world. Luckily, a ladder that can be found across the street allows one to climb the roof of a flower shop and view Montreal in all its glory.

Often, Metro stations will have their names on the walls obscured with a black marker to make it into another word. Somebody decided to do it to all the station names on this Metro map. After the marker had been taken to the map, "Atwater" became "twat", "Peel" became "Pee", "Jean-Drapeau" became "rape", and "Assomption" became "Ass". The only other one that I know of (and my favourite) that isn't included (but is hard to do unless done on the capitalised Metro font on the large wall signs) is the conversion of "ACADIE" to "AC/DC".
