Seeing air conditioners bristling out of every window surprised me when I first came to New York. They range in size and antiquity, and make summer in the city quite noisy, but bearable in the heat. Some of them have exposed vents made of very thin, malleable metal. When they are at street level, it's impossible not to poke at them.

34th Ave Gang Hits the Pavement

Building continues on 34th Avenue behind the Hi Hi Hi Hi :) sheeting. Outside, I noticed that the 34th Ave (forever) crew had tagged the wet cement after the road had been conveniently dug up. They also added a symbol which looks like a Christian fish (bless 'em) or maybe their forever (infinity) symbol gone slightly awry.
