I could say a lot about the stupidity involved in the Penn Station demolition but that pretty much sums it up...

 With the new year already creeping upon us, why not have a squint of some historic and a few pix I took back in 2002?
Times Square in the 1920s. Visible are the Astor Hotel on right and the old Criterion Theater on left. Hotel in front of the Knickerbocker was demolished in the 1930s and replaced with a two storey taxpayer.
The Times Tower before its façade was redone in EZ-Stane™ marble and glass by Allied Chemical.
All six buildings in this picture have been torn down.
And replaced with this - Times Square in the 1970s
