 Right before I took off for a trip to Halifax, fellow Montreal contributor EvilGentleman sent me a news story about the planned demolition of a 114 year-old former high school slated for demolition by the Baptist Church congregation that now owns it.

 My days in Fredericton were coming to a close and was therefore forced to make a day of biking around the city returning anything I borrowed/stole from friends.
After returning some cans of spray paint to a friend I decided to go home for some lunch.  Most of the posts about Fredericton have been centred pretty much around the south side of the city so I figured I would get some pictures of the other side of the St. John River to even things out a bit.
The north side is pretty much residential with the exception of Main Street which is a pretty horrible array of strip malls and smaller box stores like Home Hardware and Shoppers Drug Marts. I guess it's the downtown of the area but it's pretty sad (I wasn't...

 One of my particular affinities for this town is the sky. The lighting here is rarely too intense, and when I first came here I was mildly surprised to see the sun rise and sink again before making its way to what i would consider its summit (directly overhead). The effects of this on lighting are quite nice. While June and July had many days of glaring sun, the evenings or late afternoons often brought relief in the form of thunderstorms.
