After unpacking, a quick ride to the Garden District gets me there just in time for a tour. It starts in Lafayette Cemetery No. 1. In the walls of the cemetery are tombs of people that may not have had the money nor the family to be interred in one of the stand-alone tombs. These are usually family tombs that are passed down for generations. If a family line dies off, then the management of the cemetery will then sell it to another family. We start near the banks of the Mississippi as the riverboat Natchez paddles by... Walking towards the French Quarter, we quickly come to Jackson Square... Walking towards St. Louis Cathedral, if we look northeast, we can see the view up Chartres Street... Before long, we come to the street where the partying and debauchery takes place, but it's quiet during the afternoon. And it's also the street where the guest house that I'm staying at is located. The gate to the guest house opens to an arch that is in shadows that are cool after the heat. That's my room door to the left. But...
