the beach in winter. how i long for the summer winds. my friend tom and i would go to jones beach or to fire island in the summer and we would bring along his little cousin and tom and i would set up the chairs and small table with the chess board on top, we kept the cooler of gin and tonic under the chair with the hero's from sheepshead bay. we would play chess all day, listening to frank sinatra sing the summer wind and at the end of the day we would walk by the...
