Here's a little tropical summer warmth for you poor souls suffering in the snow.
Take heart, it's not too pleasant here, either. 35 degree (95 fahrenheit) heat, 80 percent humidity makes it very unpleasant to be outdoors for any extended amount of time.
The rains from Tropical Cyclone Olga however did provide a reprieve from the heat for a week or so. Just a short wander from my place is a huge channel that drains the water from surrounding suburbs. I headed out in the height of the wind and rain and got these pics for your enjoyment.

Here are some photos I purchased from JCU of inside the bunker in 1961 before its insides were destroyed by a fire.

When I was quite young, I used to hang out in an old Bunker called No. 3 Fighter Sector.
I used to live in Wulguru and before this bunker was blocked from the public, I went inside with a couple of my mates.
Heres a photo of the Bunker in 2006.
We used to call our selves the Kidtopians.
We had a flag in an old radio tower holder off side of the building.
The Radio Tower where we kept the flag.
The original flag from 1999.
In 2001 the Bunker caught fire and It was a while before we could build up the strength to... author: Kidtopia : Townsville, AU
The Former Operations and Signals Bunker at Stuart, constructed in 1942-3, is significant as the former Headquarters of the Operations Section of No 3 Fighter Sector Headquarters (3FSHQ), who controlled fighter operations and anti-aircraft defences through North Queensland and New Guinea. Occupied by the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) in January 1945, the Former Operations and Signals Bunker played a pivotal role as the key communications centre for Allied Air Forces, operating out of Townsville during the final months of the Pacific War.
The Former Operations and Signals Bunker is one of a number of WWII structures and complexes which... author: Unknown : Townsville, AU

(Most popular picture of the building taken from the front)
The Repel building is a building in townsville city.
It was built as an observation tower of the townsville town common.
Tourists coming to Townsville were very interested in its shape and its structure.
So people started paying to get inside.
So they made it fancier, by putting in two gardens, one round the front and one round the back.
As well as two fountains round the sides.
