Frank: Do you remember (Finkellds?) bakery in the 50's and Mr.Schwartz's hardware store on Vanderbilt Ave. I didn't spell Finkellds correctly. ... Frank: To the two people above, I lived on Vanderbilt Ave & Bergen in the 40's 50's and 60's.
and Between St. Marks and Bergen there was old Joe Barker's Deli, Joe DiMaso's grocery store, Joe Mormile's...... Frank: Is that Vanderbilt Ave. and St. Marks Ave. Looks like old Joe Barker's Deli to me and if you cross St. Marks Ave. you will come to the Blue Room Bar. I think thats the...... Frank: The second picture with the address 635 Bergen St. I believe that was a syrup storage or factory, Joe Mormile's candy store was on 617a Vanderbilt Ave. and he used to buy his syrup there....... Balloonhedz: Yup. the FIRST of two portals (south side of the tunnel) comes out into daylight and the yard at Vanderbilt Ave. There were two yard designations years ago..VD Upper and VD Lower. ......
