makes me think of last night when i awoke in the middle of the night on my living room sofa... being used to waking in my bed, i had a momentary disconnect, and...... elaine: well, i don't drink these days so that motivation is gone for me. i agreed to go because it was nearby, my frriend wanted to go, and i hadn't left the house that day, but...... Nic Collins: Even with Garden the rain and lack of energy makes the sofa and a film more appealing for healing - though we know what we need to do - it is sometimes the hardest...... elaine: yeah, that's what i thought. suits my mood today. luckily the old (gainsborough?) b/w film of jane eyre with orson welles is on tv, so now my day has turned out so blue, at least...... elaine: there's the pikey/squatter end of the spectrum where you have a sofa outside specifically to sit on despite it getting increasingly rancid and infested - a slovenly take on the notion of gardens 'as rooms'... Jamie: These two fellows are within spitting distance of each other. The neighbourhood inquestion is in dramatic social decline. It's a timeless scenario, which starts with abandoned sofas, matresses and other miscellaenous items of unwated home......
