Laura: My mother lived in a large apartment building on Eastern Parkway near Grand Army Plaza in the early 1970s. What a place it must have been in its heyday. It is a safe, residental, working class area where a high population of police and firefighters live. Not pretentious, and with a nice middle-income suburban vibe.
