jeeff: cool! it's one of my favourite bits of japanese cultural trivia. i asked many japanese i met about it and most of them replied that yes, they had eaten ##katsu## for good luck.......

jeeff: ##katsu## in japanese means 'cutlet'. for example, ##tonkatsu## means 'pork cutlet'.
also, ##serikatsu## means 'to win after tough bidding' and is sometimes used to describe passing an exam or interview. ##tonkatsu## is often eaten......
