-What do you feel are the main strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of 30 St....... hc: i think the gherkin is like my favourite building.... Janet Creed Canterbury Kent: Could anyone tell me if there is an open day coming up to tour the Gherkin as l would love to have a look around. It really is an amazing building?... Ben: The actual name for the Gherkin is 30 St Mary Axe, which is just the address - boring. It's built on the site of the old Baltic Exchange which was blown up by an IRA...... Hobart: I hereby nominate {London} for a second-tier ##Honorable Mention## due simply to the fact that its {skyline} contains the {Gherkin} building!

Mayuri: i went on london visits wiv my architecture class frm college...as we went 2 visit Gherkin...wich iz a nickname for 'Swiss Re Tower'. it was an fabulous building...it a high tech building...evry1 took photos or...... elaine: fuzzytank - lets take your last comment first... would be my guess

the true name of...... elaine: also, re context, our history with high rise building is very different from the US version, cheap tower blocks thrown up postwar to house the poorest when homelessness and slum clearance became acute, so we...... roisin : re: the gherkin
yeh, that's pretty funky! ive never seen the gherkin up close or inside, tho i see it constnatly from my street, like in the distance.. i like buildings that you can sometimes have...... elaine: today's standard had a headline 'gherkin in a pickle' which i expect they were just busting to use. seems a window fell 40 feet out the building... teething trouble... elaine: Re: The Gherkin's windows open! I was watching a 2 hour docco (!) on TV the other day and it seems that part of the innovation of the design is that the windows open making......
