JCB: I lived in this area 50 years ago. My father owned one of these buildings. The city's official response to the steady influx of Latinos and blacks...... tangent: these photos are of the highest quality, and i'm especially interested by undergrowth-face and pulling-faces-girl. The old Department of Employment building looks folorn, i love decrepit and abandoned institutuional building like this. they are seedy...... Peter: from street-level up to about 10 feet, it ws painted with that generic, ubiquitous graf-covering rusty-red alkyd paint. though the building was decrepit (and even leaning towards the street, as you might be able to...... elaine: it is a sad kind of place, a mental hospital, underfunded, decrepit, long lists and desparate people, and the flowers outside half tended, but the incidental beauty of a dandilion among roses seemed gentle and...... Mad Jane: Aw, man, this time the second picture didn't upload. I keep messing this up. Oh well. It was a picture of the front, which looks less decrepit than this side angle. ...
