Let's get some dialogue going here. Hasn't anyone got any memories they would like to share? Does anyone remember getting out of school (P.S. 167) at lunchtime and having the pretzel man standing there...... jack: beautiful pictures, i haven't seen the falls in over 28 years, you know once they stopped the falls to take care of the rocks below and another time it froze over, now would you believe...... jack: so where's the dirt, the grime, the littered papers and turned over trash barrels, the tons of garbage, the people the tons of people all walking over each other not even a cloud, how does...... jack: great barbara, nice writing, it is a beautiful time of year, in brooklyn in the 40's and 50's the old men in the neighborhood would gather up leaves in piles in the streets and burn...... janet grayson: Just reading these posts bring back very fond memories. I remember the Schenectady Ave. (at Lincoln Place) pickle lady with her barrels of sours and half-sours. Also, I too stood among the crowds...... actually, several places up and down {washington} avenue in my hood sell such barrels... most of them are groceries or {west indian} supply stores...... grange: I like these shots too . History is interesting , well at least for me .
Something you may not know . You use tobe able to get those barrels for distillrys . Maybe you still...... Cheesy_Member: Ahh the barrels of water at the off ramp on the motorway. Nothing like that here - just crash into the barriers.... Jamie: That's all very well but didn't he ##(alledgedly)## accept a gift of 20 million barrels of oil from Saddam's government not so long ago?...
