 so this is the lock that is just the other side of the bridge with the stencil grafs on. the canal itself is the boundary between tower hamlets and hackney, and since it is the responsibility of british waterways there is no clue as to post code, although the pathway is on the hackney side. i took a couple of hundred photos, and covered another 3 or 4 locks, i can't remember but different walks - up to angel, down to bow. and of course various grafs and wildfowl. but anyway this is the lock you asked for, just say...

 Plum Beach is a grimy spit of sand that is just past Sheepshead Bay and part of Gateway National Park. It's beautiful and filthy and therefore gloriously neglected, unkempt and various. It appears to attract people of all races and creeds. It's entered via a parking area that is just off the Belt Parkway, a major highway. A lot seems to go on in this parking lot; it's the kind of place where people might meet for illicit affairs. There are also liaisons in the dunes. I've heard there are poachers of the local sealife.
