"...The Iditarod is the famous long-distance race in which yelping dogs tow a sled across Alaska. The Idiotarodis pretty much the same thing, except that instead of dogs, it's people, instead of sleds, it's shopping carts, and instead of Alaska it's New York City..."

Looking north west towards the Downtown business district...

Leo’s Horse Palace on rue Ottawa as it looked on October 20th. Although this stable is nowhere near the largest of a handful in and around Griffintown, it is by far the best known. What I like best about this stable is that from this view, it looks like you could be on a small farm in the country, however, if you make a 180 degree turn, the skyscrapers of downtown Montreal tower over you only a few blocks away.
You can read more about Leo and his stable in this 2004 article from...

As far as names go, this one brings some rather unpleasant smells to mind. This truck was passing through the Montreal suburb of Dorval on Autoroute 20, about a kilometer from my house, as I was on my way to run some errands.
Since the home base of these cunning linguists is in the Toronto ex-suburb of Scarborough, perhaps jeeff or hool would be kind enough to take a few pictures of the actual fishy beavers one day, and...
