With all the changes in Bushwick's real estate landscape there are a diminishing number of sealed up houses like this one. Houses like this were sealed up in the 1980's to prevent them from becoming drug dens and targets for fire.
A few remnants remain around the neighborhood, but its only a matter of time before they become gut renos.
This one is at Troutman and Bushwick. See any on your block?

This kitty wanted to eat me, It got quite pissed off when I entered it's cage to take some pics. It is about 4 times the size of a big domestic cat and has been known to take down a 60lb gazelle.
This kitty liked me so much it licked my hand almost raw. The cheetah, you can tell by the racing stripe under the eye can run at 50 mph. It purrs just like your kitty at home only louder.
I may post some pics of baby rhino and hippo some time sooner or later.Did you know ehen you stroke a...

You know you're in Montreal when...
1 - You see a cop driving at 120 km/h in a 70 km/h zone...
2 - ... you pass him doing 130 km/h...
3 - ... and nothing happens.
4 - Shaq and Michael Jordan walk the streets and nobody notices.
5 - You only speak English, yet you suddenly realize you have no clue what a "depanneur" (corner store) is called in English.
6 - You only speak French, but you can swear faster in English.
7 - The driver in front of you turns on his turn signal. You are convinced he must be trying to trick you...

I am an educator amateur historian who is working to answer this question for a Summer exhibition at the Brooklyn Historical Society.
So the question is, why did the flames rise up the early 1970's to claim over 15% of the housing stock, spread fear and uncertainty, and lead to a 30% population reduction, from which it took a decade to recover?
What do you think?
Hint: There is not one answer

Pickled snakes are commonly found preserved animals in Asia, and put inside alcoholic drinks.
The snakes, preferably venomous ones, are usually not preserved for their meat. They are preserved to have the snake poison dissolved in the liquor. However, because snake venoms are protein-based, they do not dissolve well in water and alcohol, and thus the preserved snake does not actually contribute venom to the drink.
