I apologize in advance, because this is yet another tome of an article. The other two posts in this series will not be nearly as wordy. But I felt I had to try to explain why a structure I'd never even visited was so important to me, as most of the pictures I took don't do it justice. ---- Late that night we stopped for automated coffee at a truck stop in Pennsylvania where we were the only human beings in sight and the sky was clear enough, even so near to the highway, that we could see the Milky Way....
