Irlam - a small town on the Western edge of Manchester, England. Salford overspill territory. Houses, pubs, chip shops and not much happening. Lies on the banks of the Manchester Ship Canal, which swallowed the river Irwell, the river which gave Irlam it's name. Irlam Locks used to scare me as a kid - a huge drop into pitch-black water, but nowdays, with a camera, I can be selective.
