Previous Day :: Next DaySirhcbre: What does the bat say? benji: thanx alot, i can't usually place a finger on why im taking most shots, so maybe thats it, haha :) Sirhcbre: I'm looking forward to the next part. I want to know what wacky things will happen next! Stuart: As a new arrival to Toronto, I don't have the emotional attachment to this building as others might have. I'm sure most visitors have the same view as I do : "what the hell is this monstrosity still doing standing?" With such beautiful lakefront potential, this is a... Jamie: i cant quite put a finger on what it is i love quite so much about these photos. and your photography in general. in many ways they seem to anthropomorphise their inanimate subjects. Jamie: cool, i like these sorta posts Jamie: Jamie: Philip Johnson's Pennzoil Place dfwtiger: Believe it or not....I have moved to a digital camera....it is easy to carry with me throughout the day. I use a Cannon PowerShot SD600 digital elph. I never touch up the pictures...I just take them as I get them. I like film better...but it is so... dfwtiger: This is such an odd place. It could not be any different than Dallas even though they are only 35 miles apart. One embraces the west...the other sheds the west like Atlanta sheds the south. Great place to visit. dfwtiger: We joked in college that our football battle cry was peace eagle instead of "war eagle"....Oh how fitting is peace eagle now? dfwtiger: T & P stands for Texas & Pacific railroad. This is a shot behind the now vacant warehouse. It is a huge building that sits in isolation. Currently, talk is underway of converting it into residential. Time will tell. Catherine Penfold-Waxman: The last one looks like something from the Wacky Races. www.nostalgiacentral.com/tv/kids/wackyraces.htm dfwtiger: It's a really nice place. It looks like it floats on water....calm and relaxing. dfwtiger: The water gardens are going through renovations right now. An accident killed several people a couple of years ago. The City decided to do a retro fit....and then decided to clean up the whole park. I wanted to document the gardens in a run down state...then I... Ellie: Hello Everyone,
I was born and raised in Brooklyn. I lived right off of Bushwick and Grand Street. I attented 196, IS 49 and Eastern District High. I moved to Florida in 1990, but my heart still belongs to New York. I was wondering if anyone knows a... jeeff: what's T&P? jeeff: very venetian. jeeff: that's sad. and it looks so good with the water cascading down. i hope they find a way to make it safer without caging people in. Peter: jeeff: Fort Worth Water Gardens jeeff: wow. at first glance i thought it was a dove on the field in shot #1. then i saw an eagle and thought, "that's more appropriate." jeeff: what's the story behind the deaths? Get out of your car, buddy: What a rotten story. Glad to know that you are not seriously injured.
I can't believe that they took off! That always blows me away, and then to park it next to the cop shop!
I stick to the pick paths as much as possible for this reason (not an... aer suzuki: nicely done. aer suzuki: spicy colors, looks good offset by the grey. nice shot. aer suzuki:
aer: that first one -is- beautiful, they're all good shots. what sort of camera are you using? Grant: I am sitting in an apartment in 1230 Burling (one of the buildings in Cabrini Green) as I type this. I have lived here since 2000 (and before that I lived in a house next to Cabrini that was destroyed in the Urban Cleansing of Cabrini and the surrounding,... neS...: i think everyone needs to appreciate the art of graffiti whether its your crew or not.art is art ,that cat or crew bombin shit everywhere ,ya'll need to stop hatin on em fo rell yall just need to realize its about gettin stated gettin your name up reguardless how wack... anon (bas3-toronto12-1168024953.dsl.bell.ca): tke a pic at 83 irving avenue, brooklyn, n.y. ta WindyCity4life: I would ay Cabrini would be considered still dangerous.Last time i was their, their was a bunch of Gangster diciples walking around outside of the remaining high rises on west division street. My dad used to have to go up in high rise public housing in chicago such as Robert taylor homes... zagg: the first one is beautiful. procyon: I remember them looking a lot more full-of-water in the Philip Johnson coffee table book. Did they permanently change the way water flows after the deaths there? Or is it just the black-and-white? zagg: Wikipedia: "Prattsville -- The hamlet of Prattsville is in the south part of the town on Route 23A. It was incorporated as a village in 1883, but later abandoned that status." --- sounds like a wild and crazy place.
joey: i overheard a townie fellow say, 'god damn it! i left a six pack of beer in the park last night.' Previous Day :: Next Day |
