GGP: "a lawn is an ecological wasteland": probably my favorite quotation of the year, from some gardening book I read in wintertime. oh, and nice asters, peter; almost painfully purple--a purp walk! (not sure what those tassels are kc, tho by "loose translation", I meant I was being liberal w/ the... jack: all women are basically beautiful. its just that some take the time to influence the eyes of a man to gaze upon their beauty and dream. i have noticed that as i got older, i began looking a little more at most women. women have discarded most... jack: at one time, long ago, i ate my lunch, looking out onto those murky waters. i thought this was my city. i guess we all feel the city is about some part of our lives. but times change and the city is home to new peoples and... jamie: flowergeek jack: i thought ireland was free. Peter: these are asters:
jack: grass, thanks i dont have to mow it anymore. sneezing every minute, watery eyes, itchy, scratching, misery of heat and bugs. my wife and children playing happily in the green, dense, lushness of lawn. the dog romping gleefully as one of the children. OH DEAR LORD, BRING... andy: well scanned! kc: lovely. I love asters. Is that grass with the tassles? I guess it is. I'm so indoctrinated by the Lawn. I love how unruly the grass grows in late summer, pushing up through the cracks in the sidewalks unmowed. Thanks! kc: I won't blame the media, but as you can see from this there's an avalanche of pressure about how to look and probably how to act. If you're at all inclined to listen, it must be hell to resist. Do men feel this at all? I mean, there were probably... Peter: yay! im so glad autumn is coming to brooklyn, btw.
