aer suzuki: thankya

in response to The Walrus Edifice

sine: NYC Murder Rates By Year: 1990 2245 1991 2154 1992 1995 1993 1946 1994 1561 1995 1178 1996 983 1997 769 1998 633 1999 676 2000 708 2001 649 2002 575 2003 597 2004 572 2005 530

in response to Dawson CGEP Shooting

sine: is the lowest among the 25 largest cities in the United States. Since 1991, New York City has seen a continuous fifteen-year trend of decreasing crime. Neighborhoods that were once considered dangerous are now much safer. Violent crime in the city has dropped by 75% in the last twelve years...

in response to Dawson CGEP Shooting

aer suzuki: awesome post! haven't had a chance to get out on the road this summer too much, these are cool to see. nice colors too.

in response to Tacoma Narrows Bridge #2

Andrew Smith: Like it - what exactly are they though?

in response to PacMan from 35,000 Feet

aer suzuki: yeah very cool shot.

in response to Train

David: The top bridge is the Veteran's Memorial Bridge, or the Detroit-Superior Bridge. I don't know what the little one is called, but it's a pretty neat swing bridge. It pivots in the middle, which means half the bridge is over land to clear the Cuyahoga for the big...

in response to Bridges of Cuyahoga County

Biff: The Walrus has brought us honour and wealth... What is that style, Niles Crain Beaux Art?

in response to The Walrus Edifice

zagg: Aww, reminds me of the view when I flew to AZ.

in response to PacMan from 35,000 Feet

EvilGentleman: Crop circles gone commercial. Damn alien investment firms...

in response to PacMan from 35,000 Feet

EvilGentleman: I suspect it's a $ sign, meant to signify the high cost of sneakers. Almost seems Banksy-like. Abstract urban spoof of the death of a very commercial product.

in response to Shoes

chiamattt: Those remind me of North Korean shit.

in response to Airport Scenes 1

zagg: [previously posted, Ohrid, Macedonia] Zagg the pirate getting ready to plunder, Skopje Macedonia] I know, I'm so artistic that it physically hurts, right? Reflection while focusing on a Kurt Halsey print.

in response to Self Reflections

ksedge: the "s" looks like the logo for sheraton hotels.

in response to Shoes

Jon: obviously if mario does a jumping headbutt, something cool will come out. Come on guys, anyone can see that.

in response to Back Alley

SLO : We Paint 4 life!!

in response to Sane Smith: Puttin' the Green in Greenpoint

SLO : I think all the guys and gils who paint are true artist stay R.I.P SANE

in response to Sane Smith: Puttin' the Green in Greenpoint

Kat: a couple of pictures where in (inadvertantly?) ended up in the shot. I guess. It was only half an accident. This thread is cool!

in response to Self Reflections

procyon: the second one is my favorite. my aunt lives in huron by a beach that looks a lot like that, and the crane toward the left reminds me of the crane some developers apparently left near her beach years ago and never moved. plus those colors are great.

in response to It\'s Been Getting Cold

jeeff: don't worry, the 'double d' store by my house (a variety store and bargain basement internet cafe) is still open.

in response to It\'s Been Getting Cold

colavitos ghost: glooooooooorious!

in response to The Walrus Edifice

colavitos ghost: double d (an ice cream store on my corner) just closed for the season last week. what a pity.

in response to It\'s Been Getting Cold

susannah: These are great I especially like 4 and 10. I'm interested to know what kind of camera you used for 10, it reminds me of Ansel Adams for some reason (probably the detail on the trees in constrast to the sweeping grandeur of the bridge).

in response to How I See Fort Worth

jeeff: i just finished rereading the odyssey. i love homer's description of each day dawning.

in response to Rosy Fingered Dawn

Peter: as a new yorker, i empathize with some of the points made in that article...

in response to Architectural Anomalies

Katy: I don't like it myself. A.A. Gill puts the boots to this kind of architecture in this month's Vanity Fair. www.vanityfair.com/commentary/co . . . ent/articles/060918roco02

in response to Architectural Anomalies

Andrew Smith: Welcome Reita Agree with you on the amount of new-build. Every spare bit of land seems to have been/being built on and the traffic gets worse with it. Glad you found the site - some great photo's from all round the world.

in response to Irlam, Manchester

little ukraine: i really love that there is a camera mounted on the building to the right. though it's clearly well behind you, it is pointed right at your face in this image. very cool.

in response to Self Reflections

Peter: i meant random in regards to the anti-ratner topic of this post...

in response to Anti-Ratner Graffiti

little ukraine: that first shot is really difficult to interpret without context. i'm guessing the pitch-black is sky: is that taken out of a top-floor window, with the roof extended out from the building?

in response to Clinton Presidential Library

Random Commentator: Not random graffiti, that's Reskew ACC, a really talented fellow.

in response to Anti-Ratner Graffiti

GGP: nice! makes me wanna play some old johnny cash train songs.

in response to Train

john: I heard that neckface and Gregg Griffin are fighting because Griff has been going around New York crossing out necks tages. If you are a neckface hater you should like Griffin at Blah Blah Gallery.

in response to Fuck Neck Face

reita gregson: hi i have just found this amazing site....My uncle Dennis Gregson has moved from his old stables in Irlam to a smaller holding in Astley Rd Irlam. His son Wayne Gregson now looks after the few remaining horses, dogs, hens etc! It is amazing how much Irlam and Cadishead has...

Peg Maass Labiuk: We found a Buddy Bike at a scap metal yard here in Victoria, BC. It's yellow and has an original "Buddy Bike" seat, decals, and head tube badge. We want to restore it - it's rusty and has no wheels. Where can we get this Phil Wood...

in response to Side-by-Side Tandem Bicycle:

buddhavegas: Its Wellington New Zealand, I live within walking distance of the place.

in response to Old Bank

Nickle, Dime, Quarter: Thanks for explaining your point. I see where you are coming from. My favourite vantage point for the skyline is at the very end of the Leslie St. Spit (on the lighthouse hill). From there, it screams "Toronto" to me. It is a great spot because it gives you a sweeping...

in response to The Last Bird

Nickle, Dime, Quarter: Not sure about narrowest, but there is a building in Hong Kong with a smaller aspect ratio (height to width).

in response to Architectural Anomalies

Michele: Ok....here's my story My dog Milo passed away on May 2, 2006. I was and still am grieving from losing him. Anyhow on the day Milo died I noticed this raccoon which I have never seen before. At first I wasn't happy because I use to live in the city and...

in response to Raccoons, Cute or Dangerous?

hool: i snuck in to a penthouse condo of that skyscraper when some friends were staying in a hotel room in the building. you can see the window in that photo, at the very top of the curve. it was still under development at the time so the door was unlocked...
