Born in Hutchinson: That weird church/apartment building you describe used to be called St. Elizabeth's Mercy Hospital. I was born there. I lived for several years about three blocks east of that building, in a very nice neighborhood. I have very wonderful memories of that town, but also very dark memories as well....

serlingrod: my guess, sythero, is that foreigners purchase electronics from these stores to get their taxes returned when they leave. tokyo much like japan is a very homogenous place, but i did see alot of westerners in akihabara, probably getting the latest high-tech toys.
