Previous Day :: Next DayScott: We've had a single coon that shows up here about once a week. It's been showing up for almost a year now. Typically shows up after the cats have eaten and then it'll eat whatever is left over. Today I was outside feeding the cats. Was... missjhyde: That first one is AWESOME CartLegger: Its the mystery that is perhaps so repulsive, but so enticing. Most of these dried goodies are seafood, like shrimps, sardines, and other critters. but amongst them are the dried tiger lily buds that it takes to make proper hot and sour soup. Once properly prepared, it has a high... Tyfoid Kid: Whatever they are they aren't cheap! CE: Nope, he's very much alive. he can be seen on the roof on the front of the house in the first picture. colavitos ghost: wowowowowowow! i wanna go!!! Ilona: Brilliant. CE: I like the Long Island sign! Peter: awesome entry, dude! i love the carroll street bridge... those squat drawbridges are nice, too (3rd street, hamilton, etc)... Peter: i love owls, too... ggp, i think i may never see this plant again without imagining the stacks to be giant owls!
also: Ravenswood, Queens EL: wow, I took almost the same picture a year ago
The wall are so high and in not so good condition, feeling oppressed when there
By the way, the brown silo are in fact very special and ones of the last in the world.
they are made of fired bricks (terre cuite) EL: like that one EL: look like a dead cat on the roof in the last pic joey: the beat goes on joey: and venus joey: was the end of bond st. where they filmed the dead end kids? joey: so welcome home chippy Peter S: I have bought a couple of brand new bikes from Uncle Jacob, and have also had good experience with getting repairs done by them at very reasonable prices. So he is definitely a legit bike dealer who provides a useful service. I never paid much attention to his... maybetoday: I have not yet been to Crissy Field. I'll have to check it out sometime. It sounds like a fun Saturday excursion. grunt67: SF is a beautiful city. My wife and I live about 2 1/2 hours drive from it and try to get over several times during the summer to beat the heat.
Have you been to the Crissy Field area yet over on the Bay side? It's a part of the old... rac: Well, I've been living in Bushwick for 6 months, now (off the Myrtle stop). I was born in the Bx and used to live in Hell's Kitchen for many years; and really its about the same in terms of security, etc. The best part about Bushwick, it that... CartLegger: maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ie=UT . . . .01393,0.028925&z=15&om=1 BMF: I have loved Carl Schultz park since I was a teenager, I use to go there and sit by th water.
It brings great memories, even now. GGP: Now I will tell a Jack-like story. When I was a kid, we would drive home at night from visiting my grandparents in Astoria (who, by the way had a Ravenswood phone prefix: RA8-4089, I believe). From the 59th Street Bridge, those smokestacks (in their earlier incarnation) each blinked two... GGP: Very nice, esp. that last one! missjhyde: My husband was one of the steamfitters who built this Ravenswood Co-generation power plant. It was completed three years ago and built right next to the old Ravenswood. The three tallest stacks are from the old Ravenswood, and the shorter stack is from the new 250Megawatt plant. There are A... Peter: you can also see em here, in the second photo. that was over 5 years ago. wow. Previous Day :: Next Day |
