Previous Day :: Next DayWindyCity4life: Are they really keeping up the red midrises for seniors? What about 1230 north burling? They should keep up the remains and not put poor families on the streets, forget Robert taylor and stateway, they only have 1 remaining building at their site,CAbarini still has achance to save alot of families from having to... susannah: The man she loves isn't fooled by her passive expressions. He perceives the slight difference between trust and disinterest. The man she loves expects her to make a decision that she cannot bear. He refuses to touch her until she makes a choice. In many ways she is... Susannah: What - no hate mail? Isn't the double standard operational in these parts? What about this - three to four times a week the wife contemplates suicide, only to realize each time, as if for the first time, that if she was capable of that kind of selfishness she wouldn't... GGP: that looks like some very acidic rain!
the shot's a great one. Scott: Now having watched this construction project for the past 16 or 17 years, I can tell you that this is the 'mission' of a devoted individual. Whatever you think about Jim Bishop the man (really doesn't matter to him) is not important. His work will stand, probably for... christian: i thought the same thing. would be a good scene for a movie. seems like a pretty creepy place, especially seeing i go to school down the road. Boggy: Further down 86th Street there was another theater at the corner of 86th Street and 20th Avenue. I wasn't living in the area when they closed it up, but I got a glimpse of some of the grandeur that was its lobby when they were fixing up the Rite-Aid that... Peter: if theyre really leaning that much, that would be cool! heh. lets see more pics! Sirhcbre: I truly don't remember if they were leaning or if it's just because it was on a hill. Next time I'm in the area I'll make sure to check. KON #2 : Fucking Awsome Rí Niall: rite this is bollocks, i read most of this n its a pile of shite. the only places that are dangerous 2 outsiders is the rundown estates, mainly places lyk ballymacash(loyalist) or turflodge(republican), simply bcos the younger generation r ill-educated n dont understand wats happend here, theyv been raised... rubber duckie: whats soler up to now a days.its sad he got caught in that arrest shit .his characters were freakin sick his canvases were high class.all im trying to say is soler was like the most worthy and practically the only street artist this city had(besides jerk).hit me up soler.peace to... Get out of your car, buddy: We have subsidized housing (not enough, but let's not go there right now), so what why don't we have subsidized retail and studio space? There are co-ops and collectives (not many of these actually own their space), but nothing organized at a municipal level. This makes great sense,... Cameo: and perhaps the most "enlightened" too. Cameo: They didn't infringe though... the EX from fedEX features an arow inside the "EX" the Bevex modified their graphic enough to not infringe on the trademar "EX" Look closely at the EX... you will see a hidden arrow! Peter: this thread officially wins "the most off-topic thread evar" award. Peter: i like the yellow in this photo Peter: zagg: i bet you got alot of cool fed ex schwag, eh? Peter: i hope this is continued. this is a fascinating story... Peter: wow. now this was a nice read. curiously, ive been to the fair site a couple of times, even ridden my bike in the empty unisphere fountain and gazed forlornly at the decay of the structures, but never thought much of it, as i was always in a hurry to... Peter: hey, its the same faces from this entry. cool. i like these. anonymous: Hey Sue, what sort of developer lets a so-called "illegal" building stand for over 20 years, then... and then coincidentally decides to suddenly cash in on a local housing boom?
incidentally, id really like to know more about why you call this building illegal. you cant just make such an argumentative... Peter: this is just a really great shot... from the clouds to the silhouetted camerabot. Peter: i really hope you took that home with you. everyone, after all, needs an extra cornucopia lying around! Peter: kudos, jeeff. this took some thought, and i appreciate it when people stand up to make their opinions known. Peter: they do get very pear-shaped... lol. Peter: "You take the blue pill - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill - you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes." Peter: i, for one, like the pointing silhouette. Peter: WOAH... the shots of the mirror arrays... totally rad. id really love to see more of this sort of stuff if you ever get the chance. Peter: this is probably one of my favorite metro pieces yet. tight, very tight. and the cope2... well, that goes without saying. Peter: those spiral staircases! so cool. they always get me.
and yeah, i hate that 60s-style permastone architecture too. my grandma lives in a house like that, heh. Peter: lol... "need a good dump" Peter: any dog that wears sunglasses is #1 in my book. Peter: great. now im hungry! Peter: maybe it looks askew because these buildings could be on a hill, and the photo was lined up to mke the road flatter than it is?
i hope not, though. it would be alot cooler if these buildings were leaning! Sue: Are you aware that the "developer" at Abell Street has owned the building since the early 80's? The building is illegal, and will be replaced by 200 legal affordable housing units? duwon: yup aint no0o 1 fucken with newark naw mean we go0o to0o hard for any nikkas out there so0o hatas just fall waii bak naw mean thats how it is if u aint frm the ghetto dnt come in the ghetto nikka

~1~ FauxReal: Yeah I like that guy's faces... except for the one he did on the inside of Touche's bathroom wall. (A restaurant on NW 14th & Glisan.) FauxReal: I know a few graff kids that do some good stuff, but it's hard to get up when the cops are so hard on it. I've noticed a lot of nice stencils and posters in Portland over the last 2 years and some pretty nice stickers on the backs of... The guy from Armondo's: It's been 25 years since I've had a slice at L&B. Is it still 35¢ for a slice and a Coke? aer suzuki: thank you Mora: I guess so, and whatever you say Jack, bush remains a criminal, no doubt. "Look daddy, I can beath up Saddam better then you did!"
But back to topic, I believe there's alot of corruption, they are not the criminals, the people who have the power actually are. caringmom: My son has made a movie about and for the people from Cabrini. It is their story. He has given hope where there was no hope. He is trying to change their lives by helping them live their dreams. You can email me at ganserkarin@yahoo.com. ... ksedge: mohawks are cool. but a mohawk and sunglasses would be the ultimate! no? Where will the smokers end up?: It has been a few months since the bill 112 came into effect in Québec and I have to say that I do not see how ¨Québec is breathing any easier¨as the government funded propaganda promised. What I do see is very full sidewalks (full of butts), alleys, balconies, and... zagg: No, BUT he had a mohawk inbetween his ears. A white german shepherd with a small mohawk. I win. big tek: looking for a friend that i was in service with big mike.anyone know him?
