Previous Day :: Next DayPeter: im not a gamer, but i did find this on wiki: Duel_Monsters Peter: though im not into parkour, this is a great post.
the "parkour rap", however, im not so sure about... heh. Marquis: I like it. I've seen uglier. Like the plywood "mcmansions" being put up around whitestone. I'd rather live in the picture above, than in a shitty palace in whitestone! Robert: Cool shots, Peter! John: I grew up in Yorkville as a kid during the 1970s-1980s in "the projects". When I'm in town, I always think of Johnny and Matilda's Candy Store and Soda Shop. It was the center of my little world, near the corner of 92nd street and First Avenue, in the 1970's.... Anon: Yu-gi-Oh Cards. Cloned Prince: I wrote a Parkour Rap!
Things just aint the same for todays traceurs,
Cops and pigs want to see us in handcuffs
Yamakasi and the Belle are aging,
The old traceurs, well they're all changing,
Making way for new names and faces,
Whilst traceurs are popping up from all kinds of places.
Paving the way for... Ace: I know Ellis G, and he's a real tool. His "art" sucks, too. Peter: the above-mentioned post on Child's Restaurant is here, by the way... Catherine Penfold-Waxman: Now I have some welly boots for the next downpour.
Catherine Penfold-Waxman: Certainly is Stark, Abe or not.
I vote Queens Plaza, right off the 59th street bridge most ugly. Anon.: Nice post. I surfed in from curbed.com/archives/2007/10/11/t . . . 1/thursday_pm_linkage.php - this is a good site here! Christina: It's actually still very much in use. It was built in the 70s, I think. I know they definitely still use the ice rink. There's a few apartment complexes nearby as well and the place gets a good amount of kids.
Though a lot of stuff in the area is either... Shanghai: no way, i love that place! beautiful concrete i wish i could buy it and turn it into an art space. Director Dale: The Adam Clayton Powell Junior State Office Building in Harlem
Melograna: The parking garage in Queens Plaza is among the ugliest buildings I've seen anywhere, let alone in NYC
Poulet in Bondage: Awww, really? I'm kind of fond of them. Anyway, there are uglier buildings in New York--I second the Supreme Court in Brooklyn. It looks like it was designed by Stalin. Dabroots: At least it's not a very big building.
My choice is the horrible State Supreme Court Building on Court Street. Looks like a leftover from the Stalinist USSR:
Body Electronic: I think its awesome! sorchawench: Ugly or not, at least it appears to be zombie proof. SCAM28: That's an amazing mural...
do you happen to have a color shot of it???
i mean it looks awesome in black and white, but i'm a wondering what kind of colors were used...
tom: do you know where there is more of this art work CartLegger: hah! Keep your eyes to the ground, and there's no limit on the ironies you can see! chai curious: i kinda like the one ny plaza building and i want no part of any ass-rapin' Ilona: How is the death rate at this hospital?
