Helenka: I'm so upset. My son's BMX has just been stolen today - he had left it in front of a convenience store in Bloor West Village, unlocked - he should have known better. Now he has learned a lesson the hard way.

Susannah: Maybe it was the Iron Horse?

in response to Love Liquors & Wine

Susannah: I'll trade you a picture of someone doing something really, really STUPID on a golf course for a picture of someone doing something really, really STUPID on an ice hockey rink.

in response to Montreal Scavenger Hunt

colavitos ghost: the white horse tavern (the original one, at least) is in manhattan, in the west village.

in response to Love Liquors & Wine

EvilGentleman: Lemme guess, you mean the red uniforms and the park ranger stetson hats? They only wear those in parades and in front of places like Parliament Hill and at the entrance of the Prime Minister's official residence, etc. The rest of the time, they wear blue with a red stripe...

in response to Montreal Scavenger Hunt

EvilGentleman: Yeah, nothing worse than a tract of over-cultivated green space that you are not allowed to have a picnic on. Up here, hockey is a religion. You are much more likely to suffer violence here if you blaspheme hockey than you are if you publicly denounce God, Allah, or whatever.

in response to U.S. Congressman Foley

procyon: i love that third photo. all those crisscrossing lines in the air and on the ground.

in response to CN Tower

Susannah: A mounty! A mounty! - How could I forget a Mounty - do they have those in Montreal, or only in the British parts of Canada (please pardon my ignorance)?

in response to Montreal Scavenger Hunt

Susannah: Be afraid - be very afraid: brown-recluse-spider.ascendedhea . . . -spider-bite-pictures.htm

in response to Killer Spiders, and Giant Turtles

in response to Killer Spiders, and Giant Turtles

GGP: in Mexico I saw a lot of tarantulas--they stand so high off the ground, they cast a serious shadow. but they are pretty slow.

Susannah: Beautiful, especially without caution.

in response to Fountain with Venus of Wellendorf

Susannah: You know what else is a religion to some people - sports- sports, I was driving around today and I couldn't believe the amount of space we dedicate to Golf around here. There is something very strange to me about that.

in response to U.S. Congressman Foley

fedup: Okay I'm basically illiterate. I should have re-read my previous post for grammer and spelling mistakes. Sory

in response to Raccoons, Cute or Dangerous?

Susannah: I'm really scared of those brown ones- I heard about them in Kansas City, Mo many years ago - still scared.

in response to Killer Spiders, and Giant Turtles

Susannah: Is the White Horse Tavern still in Park Slope? Memories... light the corners of my mind....

in response to Love Liquors & Wine

fedup: That's it. I've had it. I just can't be 'senstive' any longer. If I go to the country, I will be cognizant of being in the raccoons backyard and act accordingly (let him/her have their way). But, here in Toronto, sorry, this is MY yard, these are MY kids. Raccoons...

in response to Raccoons, Cute or Dangerous?

in response to Love Liquors & Wine

Mat-E: Don't feel bad for the streetcar...it was probably barely damaged.

in response to Crunch

Mat-E: I also spotted this by my house on the east side (somewhere on Carlaw, I think? Can't remember). That must have been over a month ago, so the ad must have survived a little longer than a week. I couldn't believe a)how clever it was and b)that...

in response to The Three R\'s

EmAManda Light-of-Day: I got here because I googled "Songs from the Slums" and truly enjoyed this picture. The contrast between the items we create as a result of our human civilization and the beauty and gentle simplicity of nature, as personified by the pink-blosomed bush, made for a lovely composition which...
