Previous Day :: Next Daydishinobi: im proud to be born in st laurent,
such a balanced place to spend the early years of my life
i see these fotos now, and it brings this funny feeling to my heart
living in greece now,
be home in december.
cant wait, thanks for posting this.
di Miriam: Wow, reminds me of where I lived. I don't remember the address but it was Park Place. Steve Pinick: Hello. I was wondering if anyone had any history on Yuba, WI. My great great grandfather was the founder. I was thinking of traveling there to see what it was like. If anyone has any history or know who I could contact, I would be grateful. young jersey: Whats up my jersey people. I lived in east orange all my life, and its fucked up but to most of us its home.I,m proud to be from jersey, but the gang shit needs to stop. jersey stand up Peter: so snare: are you indeed a bored lower-middleclass white guy in your late teens? SNARE.ONE F1C: Jeeff:
The church had been deserted at the time it was done. The signs gone now as well.
Peter: that last shot just continues to crack me up... JOEY TPA The Public Animals: Fantastic observation JOEY TPA The Public Animals: Man, I LOVE the industrial shots...my dad was born in England... seems to strike a chord in me.. JOEY TPA The Public Animals: Joey TPA spent many days hanging on those gallery steps in NOHO in that last picture. Andrew Smith: Cheers for the photo's Robert - good stuff.
Looks like they had to knock down a row of houses to build Cadishead library unless the had already gone. sisters birthday: Eric and Maxine were married on the 11th May 1959 and Eric Broome had lived at 86, Silver Street, Irlam. Eric worked at the Irlam Council Offices as a clerk before moving to a Manchester City Centre solicitors office. Eric and Maxine dined at the Boysnope Restaurant Wednesday 31st... JOEY TPA The Public Animals: Great shots, look at the basic mosaic in the last picture. little ukraine: nice shots! welcome to new york! SNARE.ONE F1C: River Park is actually a small washed-up grouping of dated townhomes adjacent Watson Park along Wellington. Part of this area IS abandoned. That was the second letter I recieved for tags in this area. Never got a chance to read this one.
If it was so bad then why did... jack: I GUESS WHEN AN EMPLOYEE STATES THAT THEY ARE GOING TO TAKE A WALK AROUND THE BUILDING, THEY MEAN IT. SORRY FOR THE CAPS. ROBERT: In 1959, when I was 12 I remember walking to this place from Woodside, Queens with my friends Raymond Cusato and Brett Dicker. If it's as dirty and stinking as it was back then I wouldn't advice anyone to get near the place. ROBERT: Congratulations, Barry. Excellent shots and a great sequence. Robert Patten: Finally (for now), three pictures from May 2007 from what we call Teletubby Hills, near the Northbank Industrial Estate and can be seen from the Cadishead Way bypass.
You can see the Rehau building, and if you look carefully in the distance, Irlam railway viaduct crossing the Ship Canal.
These hills have... graphotism:
Gabs: 42 - when you learn your four seasons: almost winter, winter, still winter, and construction.
43 - You understand and often use terms like "unilingual" "anglophone" "francophone" and "allophone"
44 - You can pronounce Pie IX.
45 - For two weeks of the year you are either a fan of Reggae or Jazz.
46... Robert Patten: Just realised I could have worded that better, chances are that when the first picture was taken the railway was still in use.
This picture is taken from a bridge which crosses the now dismantled railway lines, looking towards Glazebrook. If you follow the fencing into the distance it meets... my misgivings: NORTH Wales’ Chief Constable Richard Brunstrom is calling for the legalisation and regulation of all drugs – and next week will ask North Wales Police Authority to back him. The region’s top cop reckons existing drug laws are “not fit for purpose”. “In a nutshell, I’m advocating the repeal of... Robert Patten: Liverpool Road, Cadishead, from the disused railway bridge, date unknown.
Same shot from March 2006.
I only moved to Cadishead in 2005 and before that new nothing about the area. I love finding sites like this with people's stories of the history of Irlam and Cadishead. indykid: Interesting to see the latest from the WTC site. I don't know what it's like in America, but here in Europe now the fires are out and the buildings have stopped falling we don't really get any info on the aftermath, building sites don't sell papers. It's the same with... eyeofodin: I like it, cool building. I need to explore Oakland, I live across the bay. Jorge Tunswala: Jus check out the skaterz at FDR dude, lotta dem rippin over 30 Anony Mouse: I'd be interested in seeing those because short of something in the Gleaner that was vague, Heritage seemed to be making a lot of demands without any real alternatives. I'd be curious as to how much their plans would cost and if they consulted with the church on them. Thanks... UpFromFlames: I don't think that drugs came into the the area then. It just transitioned from heroin (brought in by Galante) to crack -- brought in by ????. Previous Day :: Next Day |
