While this is not from teh same view, you can see the building that is under construction Ithaca college student: It is a tricky matter... I could be wrong but i thought this store was located on myrtle, which is why the mcdonalds flag can be seen beuase if it is then its right across the street from bushwick. I never new it had been changed up till now.
Therr were fruit and vegetable stores across the street from the school on Schenecktady Avenue. The store on the Eastern Parkway corner was called the "Big Apple". Avocadoes and... Keith Bernstein: I would like to add some comments about Mrs. Ida Gradstein. I thought her to be an effective teacher and a sweet lady. The mention of her name brought back some memories of my sixth grade class at PS 167 in 1958-59.

Don't know when you lived there, but I was born in 1074. My grandparents (Zimmerman) took the apartment when we moved to 919.
Next door to 1074 lived Herbie Prince, Mike Lyman and Howie Sapon. Howie and I were in the navy togther in '51 Mime: Ha, nice.
This reminds me of the other day when I was coming out of a class at Uni, heading towards my little scooty when I noticed a tree branch about the thickness of my arm had fallen off the tree under which I usually park. "Oh no, Forti!" I thought,... Mime:
This is right across the road from an Irish pub I used to frequent and across from the Marina. I think they're building a high-rise dwelling type structure "with ocean views" and all that shebang.
They moved a heritage listed old Queenslander-style backpackers' building and closed the mens' hostel down to... Mikel: Internet radio, The Whistler, Google and now I leave my mark.
I feel like I'm apart of something epic here. zagg: If I remember (I re-looked once, and I'll check again next time I'm there) the brick has actually been spray painted to look like that. In one of your earlier posts you had mentioned a Mrs. Gradstein as your sixth grade teacher.
FWIW, (Ida) Gradstein was my aunt on my mothers side of the family - my mother,... o u didnt know? ur ass better call sumbody!: still killin shit on the L.I.E on the walls by Maurice Ave westbound towards Manhattan.Destroyed that shit just saw it over the weekend. Lived near Alki and then near the locks at Ballard. Did my duty at Sand's Point, now Magnusun Park.
